Foreword
This dictionary owes its existence to the inspiration provided by the rapier wit and insightful commentary of Ambrose Bierce. The author hopes, in placing this opus before the public, to afford its discriminating readers a healthy chuckle at the expense of those others at whose obvious foibles and frailties these barbs are directed.

The quotations included herein are used entirely without permission, but not so unscrupulously as to claim credit for their invention.
